The School of Biomedical Engineering thoroughly implements the guiding principle of“Four Orientations”, particularly the commitment to“serving people’s life and health.”It is committed to cultivating dual-track leaders who excel in both academic innovation and industrial entrepreneurship, accelerating theachievementof independent and controllable high-end medical equipment, and contributing to the "Healthy China" initiative. The school regards student career development and employment guidance as a critical component in implementing the“Three-Wide education”initiative. It actively encourages students to“set ambitious goals, engage with mainstream sectors, ascend major platforms, and undertake significant endeavors," therebyachievingthe integration of personal fulfillment and social contribution in their career development and employmentchoices. Concrete measures have been introduced to encourage faculty mentors to support students in career planning and to recommend them for employment in key industries and sectors.

The students cultivated by the School of Biomedical Engineering possess a solid interdisciplinary foundation, rigorous academic training, and a broad international perspective. They exhibit strong competitiveness in career development and play vital roles in advancing academic research and driving industrial innovation in biomedical engineering, earning wide recognition from employers. Among the graduates are professors at prestigious universities worldwide, leaders in innovative medical device development, and numerous outstanding talents in biomedical engineering education, research, industry, and management.

Over the past four years (2020-2023), the school of Biomedical Engineering achieved an employment rate of 97.9% among its graduates. Approximately 90% of graduate students have remained at Tsinghua University or other leading domestic and international universities forfurtherstudies. Nearly 90% of master and PhD graduates secured employment in key universities, research institutes, high-tech enterprises and government agencies, or chose entrepreneurship within the biomedical engineering field. Notably, nearly 60% of PhD graduates entered leading universities and research institutesworldwideto engage in teaching and research. Several outstanding PhD graduates have assumed teaching and research faculty positions at TsinghuaUniversity orhave been appointed to associate professorship or higher roles at other major universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tianjin University, Sichuan University, and Xi’anJiao TongUniversity.
