Dr. Zhou Li, PhD Supervisor, Director of the Vita Tech Innovation Center at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital affiliated with Tsinghua University and Professor at Tsinghua University. Celebrated with the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and other notable awards such as the Beijing Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the National Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-Notch Talent, his work is well recognized. Dr. Zhou Li holds several influential roles including Vice Chair positions in the Chinese Society for Biomedical Engineering and the China Electronics Society among others, reflecting his multifaceted expertise from bioengineering to smart materials. And he is awarded the title of lifetime member of the Chinese Association of Development Strategy Studies.
His research focuses on novel bioelectronic and medical devices, encompassing implantable/wearable electronic medical devices for health monitoring and therapy, biosensors, biodegradable electronic devices, and biomechanics. He has published over 330 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals such as Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Reviews Cardiology, Joule, Cell Biomaterials, Science Advances, and Nature Communications. Furthermore, there are 3 top 1 ‰ hot publications and 30 top 1% highly cited papers in ESI. His publications have achieved an H-index of 89, with over 28000 citations, several of which are among the most frequently cited papers in this field.
Prof. Li have been awarded Science and Technology Award of Beijing, “Young Investigator’s Award” of International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and Gold Award of China Association of Inventions. His work was highlighted by Nature, The People’s Daily, The Times, Scientific American, New Scientist and other inland and other inland and international mediums. Prof. Li is the Vice-Chairman of Youth Committee in the China Society of Biomedical Engineering, the Youth Committee member of the China Society of Biological Engineering. He is supported by the National Youth Talent Support Program, New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education of China, Beijing Nova Program and Beijing Top-notch Talent Program.
He is Editor-in-Chief of Micro, Associate Editor of Smart Materials in Medicine, Advanced Science and MedMat, Guest-editor of Advanced Functional Materials, InfoMat and the Editorial board member of Science Bulletin, Sensors and Actuators Report and Life Science Instrument. He is also invited reviewer for more than 70 SCI journals, including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Electronics, Science Advances, and Nature Communications.

Research Interests
1. Innovative methods and device development in electrical stimulation therapy, rehabilitation engineering, and neuromodulation. Developed the world’s first prototype of a self-powered, leadless cardiac pacemaker, and, in collaboration with the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases/Fuwai Hospital, completed animal experiments and advanced the translation of medical device products.
2. Development of novel bioactive materials and “electronic medicines” for tissue regeneration and repair. Achieved multiple original results and patents in areas such as nerve regeneration, bone repair, and wound healing, with clinical studies conducted in several hospitals.
3. Development of next-generation implantable and wearable health monitoring and medical electronic systems. By integrating self-powered technology and AI, enabled precise sensing and monitoring based on micro/nano bioelectronic devices, with collaborative research carried out with multiple hospitals.
4. Innovation of nanowire array-based methods for single-cell force measurement, with applications in organoids and disease treatment research.
