WANG, Guangzhi entered the Department of Precision Instruments and Mechanology, Tsinghua University in 1979, where he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees. Starting from 1987, he has worked successively in the Department of Radio Electronics, Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, and Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Medicine, Tsinghua University, and received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering. From January 1997 to July 1998, he served as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, USA. Currently, he is a Tenured Professor at School of Biomedical Engineering,Tsinghua University.
Professor WANG, Guangzhi’s laboratory focuses on medical image processing and computer-assisted surgery. Addressing clinical needs, it develops cutting-edge technologies in medical image analysis, multimodal image fusion, surgical planning, surgical navigation, surgical robots, and motion tracking. The laboratory has formed new methods, devices, and paradigms for assisted diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and rehabilitation based on medical imaging, which have been translated and applied in a variety of medical device products. These innovations help doctors achieve precise, minimally invasive, and high-quality diagnosis and treatment, and the developed innovative products have been widely used in clinical practice.
